CONSTRUCTION WOOD

ISMAWOOD has a large, diverse permanent stock of beams and formwork wood (pine). These woods mainly come from Austria and Spain and are intended for the construction and public works sector.

ISMAWOOD offers various ranges of beams and planks in different types of wood, KD (kiln-dried) and AD (air-dried).

Beams

Beams, commonly known as “White Wood,” comes from European forests. Wood sourced from these Northern countries is sturdy, flexible, dense, and has straight grain, with rare tensions and cracks.

Origin: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Slovenia
Appearance/ Grain: The heartwood of spruce is typically white to reddish-brown, with pale sapwood that is not distinguishable from the heartwood. The grain is straight, with a moderately coarse and uniform texture
Density: 450kg/m3 when dry – 940kg/m3 when green

Radiata Pine

Pinus radiata, commonly known as “Radiata Pine” or “Monterey Pine,” is the world’s most widely planted pine tree.

Origin: South America (Brazil, Chile)
Appearance/ Grain: The heartwood of Radiata Pine is light brown, while the wide sapwood is a paler yellowish-white and distinct from the heartwood. The grain is straight with a moderate and uniform texture
Density: 515 kg/m3 when dry

Pinus Elliottii

Pinus Elliottii, commonly known as “Elliott’s Pine” or “Longleaf Pine,” is a medium to large-sized conifer native to the southern United States. A mature tree can reach 100 feet and live up to 200 years.

Pinus Pinaster/Iberian Maritime Pine

Pinus Pinaster, commonly known as “Maritime Pine” or “Landes Pine,” is native to the Mediterranean region in southwestern Europe. This tree can reach a height of 20 to 30 meters when it reaches maturity after 50 years.

Appearance/ Grain: The heartwood is light brown, while the wide sapwood is a paler yellowish-white, and we may distinguish it from the heartwood. The grain is straight with a medium and uniform texture
